Gas price hike shows where Metrodom houses benefit

Now, the very significant increase in the price of energy consumption above the "average" shows in practice how Metrodom houses and apartments have a huge advantage in terms of maintenance costs. Below, we first look at the consumption of our older houses, delivered in 2020 or before, and how much our older customers have to worry about their utility bill.

These buildings are rated "CC-modern" and are heated and supplied with hot water by modern condensing gas boilers. Our customers living in these homes, or their tenants when renting them out, have until now experienced very low heating and water bills even in the coldest winter months, rarely exceeding 3-4 thousand HUF in January for a studio apartment and around 10 thousand for a 3-bedroom family apartment.

Establishing the "average consumption" of gas at 144 m3/month per apartment has created a new situation. As it is a condominium and a central boiler, the limit for the house will almost certainly be calculated from the number of apartments, which was already recorded by the supplier for each house. Although our houses differ in many respects, as do individual consumption habits, it is safe to say, based on the experience of recent years, that the gas consumption of our buildings does not exceed 100-110 m3 per apartment even in the coldest winter months. This is roughly three quarters of the set limit, above which the market price should be paid, meaning that the residents of Metrodom houses can sleep well even if the government were to lower the average consumption limit by 20-25%.

Our houses with the Dual Eco heating system, which will be delivered in 2021 or later, will in some respects be even more comfortable for residents, which will be covered in a separate news item later.
