Central-Ferencváros

The neighborhood has become the most popular and valuable part of the Pest side of the city over the past 20 years, partly as a result of the successful regeneration of Inner-Ferencváros. However, between Haller Street and Könyves Kálmán körút, where Metrodom Green is located, new buildings now dominate, giving it a truly modern 21st century feel, unlike the old Budapest.

The office corridor built on Soroksári út from Boráros tér to Rákóczi bridge can be seen as the southern counterpart of Váci út, where many people work. In addition to office buildings, commercial establishments, a private hospital and other service companies have settled here.

The green lungs of the district are the green promenades along the Danube, the parks where the National Theatre and the Müpa (Palace of Arts) Budapest are located. It is planned to extend all the way to the waterfront after moving the HÉV line underground.

Modern, elegant apartment buildings now stand on the site of the former Közvágóhíd and most of the factories, workshops and warehouses in the area. In the past, Metrodom's projects in such areas included the City Home residential complex, the largest private rental building in Hungary, Bárd u. 2.

Today, only the listed industrial buildings remain as a reminder of the area's past, and the last vacant lots are expected to be built up within the decade.

Transportation

Metrodom Green is ideally located in terms of transport, within walking distance of both Könyves Kálmán körút and Soroksári út, at the intersection of which one of Budapest's major public transport hubs will be built. At the same time, the Nagykörút and Üllői út are within easy scooter distance, providing easy access to the city center, South Pest and all parts of South Buda.

According to the already approved development of public transport, tram No.1 running on Könyves Kálmán körút and tram No.2 running on Soroksári út will have a common stop at Rákóczi bridge, with the new line of the Soroksári and Csepel HÉV to Kálvin tér. A railway station will be added to this junction to allow easy and simple transfers from trams and HÉV, as well as from several buses, to trains to Kelenföld and trains bypassing Pest from the east. These services - with the exception of the train - are already available, and the new development will primarily facilitate and shorten the transfer time.

The tram line 1 is an 8-minute walk from the main hubs of South Buda, Infopark, Kelenföld Railway Station, while on the Pest side it crosses all major avenues, metro lines 2 and 3. Tram 2, 4 minutes from the building, takes you to the Pest Danube bank and the city center, Corvinus University, while tram 24 takes you to Keleti Railway Station. According to the plans already completed, the HÉV line along the Danube will run as a subway from Boráros tér to Kálvin tér (metro lines 3 and 4), and will later be connected to the Szentendrei HÉV line under the Danube as metro line 5. The tram 51, also 4 minutes away, will take you directly to Nagykörút (The Grand Boulevard) via Mester u.

On Soroksári út, in addition to trams 2 and 24, several buses run on different routes, including night buses 918 and 979. Two other night buses (901 and 908) also stop 8 minutes away on Könyves Kálmán körút, so you can get home from most of Budapest at night without having to change buses. There will be a bubi bike-sharing station and scooter parking directly in front of the complex, and a GreenGo point inside the building, so those who prefer car-sharing to public transport will have a full range of transport options at their disposal.
