Together for Lake Tisza – Over 10 Tons of Waste Collected During This Year’s Cleanup Campaign

2025. April 15. Tuesday

Between April 4–6, a record-breaking 10,000+ kilograms of waste were collected during the large-scale cleanup effort at Lake Tisza, organized by Dimitry Ljasuk under the name SOS Tisza-tó – and Metrodom was proud to take an active part in the initiative.

The goal of the event was to clean up the infamous "Garbage Island" – a 1.5-kilometer stretch of shoreline severely affected by pollution. Over the course of three days, nearly 400 volunteers from both corporate and civil sectors came together to give nature a helping hand. The collected waste included household garbage, PET bottles, hazardous liquids, glass, and metal waste, reaching a total of 10,440 kilograms.

At Metrodom, sustainability and environmental awareness are core values, so we are especially proud that our colleagues enthusiastically joined the effort. As a company, we are committed not only to building quality homes, but also to building a more livable future through responsible action.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the organizers – especially Dimitry Ljasuk and MVÜK Zrt. – and to all the dedicated volunteers who made this incredible achievement possible!
