Contracts, prices, deadlines: Metrodom customers can sleep easy

The events of the past few weeks have not been good for the new-build housing market either, with rising inflation, the Euro exchange rate, energy and construction material prices, and increased uncertainty. It is expected that more property developers will resort to unilateral cancellation of contracts or retroactive price increases in the coming months to stabilize their situation. Metrodom's views are set out below for our clients and those who follow our work.

Metrodom is in many respects in a more fortunate position than other players in the market, both because of our size and capital strength and because we have concluded subcontracts and material supply contracts for our ongoing projects well in advance, with expiry dates well beyond one year, so that we are only affected to a limited extent by exchange rate fluctuations and price increases, even in the medium term. And building on this solid foundation, even in this highly uncertain and rapidly changing international situation and market environment, we stay true to what we have been saying for the last 10 years.

The terms and conditions of the (pre)contracts we have concluded so far, and the terms and conditions set out in them, will be respected, as always, now and in the future. Unlike other companies, we do not attempt to increase the purchase price of the property along the way, passing on the rising costs to our clients. We also do not try to back out of pre-contracts on one pretext or another, so that we can resell the property at a higher price level, which has increased in the meantime, thus compensating for the increase in costs. Our subcontractors are also reliable, reputed companies, so we also keep to the delivery dates agreed in the contract, and we hope that the Metrodom Zugló, which will be completed this year, will be delivered even earlier than the agreed deadline.

This fast-changing, unpredictable environment is indeed a test for small and medium-sized companies, but we continue to believe that this market risk should be taken and managed by the companies. Our clients who have signed a contract with us, who have entrusted us with their money in the form of a deposit, should not suffer any disadvantage from this and can sleep soundly. If they were not sure before, they can now read these lines and know that they have made the right decision in choosing Metrodom.
